Dubai Fountain to Close for Five Months for Major Upgrades

Dubai’s iconic Dubai Fountain will temporarily close from May to October 2025 for a major renovation, Emaar Properties has announced. The upgrade aims to enhance the fountain’s choreography, lighting, and sound system, promising a more immersive and spectacular experience when it reopens.

Located at the base of the Burj Khalifa, next to The Dubai Mall, the Dubai Fountain is the world’s largest performing fountain. Millions of visitors gather every year to witness its breathtaking water, light, and music performances, making it one of Dubai’s most beloved attractions.

What’s Changing?

Emaar has revealed that the renovation will include:

• New choreography to make water displays more synchronized and dynamic.
• Enhanced lighting and sound systems for a more immersive experience.
• Upgraded technology to create even more visually stunning performances.

Currently, the Dubai Fountain’s jets shoot water up to 140 meters, using 22,000 gallons per show, synchronized to music from global artists like Michael Jackson, Andrea Bocelli, and EXO. The planned enhancements will refine these elements, ensuring a more spectacular show upon its return.

Emaar’s Founder, Mohamed Alabbar, described the fountain as “a reflection of Dubai’s soul, where art, innovation, and emotion come together in perfect harmony.” The upgrades are part of Dubai’s commitment to maintaining world-class attractions and enhancing visitor experiences.

Although the Dubai Fountain will be on pause, visitors to Downtown Dubai can still enjoy:
