Dubai Municipality has announced that four of its public beaches will be reserved exclusively for families during the UAE National Day weekend, from November 30 to December 3. The initiative aims to provide a comfortable and secure environment for families to enjoy the festive holiday, known as Eid Al Etihad.
The designated family-only beaches are
- Jumeirah Beach 2
- Jumeirah Beach 3
- Umm Suqeim Beach 1 (Sunset Beach)
- Umm Suqeim Beach 2.

1. Jumeirah Beach 2
- Location: Situated along Jumeirah Beach Road, close to major hotels and attractions.
- Beach Length: Approximately 1 km of sandy shoreline.
- Facilities:
- Public restrooms and showers.
- Changing rooms for visitor convenience.
- Jogging and cycling paths along a scenic beachfront promenade.
- Sun loungers and umbrellas available for rent.
- Activities:
- Family-friendly playgrounds and picnic areas for children.
- Water sports such as jet skiing and parasailing can be arranged nearby.
- Accessibility: Easily accessible via public transport, with ample parking available.

2. Jumeirah Beach 3
- Location: Adjacent to Jumeirah Beach 2, part of the vibrant Jumeirah area.
- Beach Length: A similar sandy stretch with ample space for families.
- Facilities:
- Well-maintained restrooms and showers.
- Natural shaded areas from palm trees and dedicated seating zones.
- Outdoor gym equipment along the promenade.
- Activities:
- Ideal for beach volleyball and other group sports.
- Nearby cafes and restaurants for dining after beach activities.
- Accessibility: Well-connected by public transport and ample parking facilities.
3. Umm Suqeim Beach 1 (Sunset Beach)
- Location: Located near the iconic Burj Al Arab, along Jumeirah Road.
- Beach Length: Approximately 1 km of wide sandy shore.
- Facilities:
- Public restrooms, showers, and accessible changing rooms.
- Night swimming allowed, with floodlights illuminating the water.
- Activities:
- Popular for surfing, with rentals and lessons available.
- A favorite spot for photographers, offering breathtaking sunset views behind the Burj Al Arab.
- Unique Features: Known as “Sunset Beach” for its serene atmosphere and stunning evening views. Less crowded, making it ideal for relaxation.
4. Umm Suqeim Beach 2
- Location: Close to Umm Suqeim Park, extending from Umm Suqeim Beach 1.
- Beach Length: Offers similar space as Umm Suqeim Beach 1, perfect for families.
- Facilities:
- Public restrooms and showers for comfort.
- Nearby parks with playgrounds for children.
- Activities:
- A peaceful environment for swimming and sunbathing.
- Ideal for family picnics and gatherings due to its spacious layout and scenic surroundings.
Safety and Monitoring
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, Dubai Municipality has deployed an integrated safety and rescue team comprising 135 personnel, along with a 60-member supervisory team to oversee operations and monitor visitor activities throughout the holiday period.
Ibrahim Mohammad Juma, Director of Public Beaches and Waterways at Dubai Municipality, said:
“Dedicating public beaches in Dubai to families during the Eid Al Etihad festivities aims to regulate the number of visitors to the beaches, which witness a large influx during public holidays. It also seeks to provide families with the opportunity to enjoy Dubai’s beaches during the holiday.”
