Dubai will implement a new parking fee structure starting March 2025, introducing a premium parking fee of AED 6 per hour during peak hours in designated high-demand areas. This move, announced by Parkin PJSC, aims to streamline parking management and enhance accessibility in the city’s busiest locations.
Premium Parking Charges and Timings
The premium parking fee of AED 6 per hour will apply during peak hours:
- Morning: 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM
- Evening: 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM
In contrast, standard parking spaces will maintain the current rate of AED 4 per hour during these periods. Off-peak parking rates remain unchanged, with parking free during overnight hours (10:00 PM to 8:00 AM), Sundays, and public holidays.
Locations of Premium Parking Zones
Premium parking zones will be strategically located to serve areas with high parking demand and ease of access to public transport. These zones include:
- Areas within 500 meters of metro stations
- High-occupancy areas during peak hours
- Commercial hubs and shopping districts
Specific locations identified include parts of Deira, Bur Dubai, Downtown Dubai, Business Bay, Jumeirah, and Al Wasl Road. Dedicated signage will clearly mark these zones, and detailed tariff information will be accessible through the Parkin website, mobile app, and social media.

Special Event Parking Tariffs
Dubai will also introduce event-specific parking rates starting February 2025 to manage parking demand during major gatherings. These charges include:
- AED 25 per hour for public parking spaces near event zones
- Initial implementation around Dubai World Trade Centre
Event parking zones will be marked with updated tariffs displayed prominently, with information readily available online.
Objectives of the New Parking Policy
Parkin PJSC emphasized that the updated fee structure is part of a broader effort to optimize parking management in Dubai’s high-density areas. Key goals include:
- Supporting efficient traffic flow, particularly during peak times and large-scale events
- Providing better parking availability in premium, high-demand areas
- Encouraging the use of public transportation by aligning premium parking zones with metro and bus station locations
Eng. Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali, CEO of Parkin, highlighted that this dynamic approach targets areas based on three key criteria:
- Proximity to public transportation, such as metro stations
- High parking occupancy during peak periods
- Density and congestion, especially in commercial and market zones
Implementation Timeline
The new parking fee system will roll out in two phases:
- February 2025: Event-specific tariffs for high-demand locations during major events
- March 2025: Implementation of premium parking zones and peak hour rates
Digital Accessibility
To ensure seamless access to parking information, Parkin will provide updates through multiple digital platforms:
- Parkin mobile app
- Parkin website
- Social media channels
On-site signage will also display parking details and tariffs for driver convenience.
Impact on Dubai’s Parking Ecosystem
Parkin, which manages over 200,000 paid parking spaces across Dubai under a 49-year concession agreement with the RTA, reported 95 million parking transactions in the first nine months of 2024. With the updated fee structure, the company aims to further enhance its parking solutions while addressing the growing challenges of urban congestion.
As Dubai continues to evolve into a global hub for business, tourism, and events, the introduction of premium parking fees and dynamic tariffs reflects the city’s commitment to sustainable urban mobility and efficient infrastructure management.
